We Train Your Biology, Not Your Birthdate

Peak Height Velocity (PHV) is the period when a teenager experiences their fastest growth spurt. During this window, bones are hardening, joints are stiffening, and the body is channelling energy into growing — not into developing speed or strength.

Most programs ignore this completely. They hand every 14-year-old the same program, regardless of where they are in their physical development. The result? Injuries. Burnout. Wasted years.

A 14-year-old who is pre-PHV and a 14-year-old who is post-PHV are completely different athletes. We train them that way.

At Power + Pace, every athlete is assessed for their biological age — not just their chronological age. We track where they are relative to their PHV and tailor every aspect of training accordingly:

–      Pre-PHV athletes focus on pure arm speed and movement development while their joints are still adaptable.

–      Athletes approaching and during PHV shift to bodyweight strength, core stability, and Kilogear micro-loading — never spinal loading.

–      Post-PHV athletes (typically 16+) graduate to proper gym-based strength work, exactly when their hormones and biology are ready for it.

This is the only safe way to develop a fast bowler. And it is the only way we do it.
